Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) When Makhloufi Messai came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Barhill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Makhloufi Messai couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdelkrim Fanon in the 8th minute of play forced Annscroft's goalkeeper Afdal Tahar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mahmoud Allam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdel Sofyane having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Mahmoud Allam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abdel Sofyane stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mahmoud Allam's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Abdelkrim Fanon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barhill FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdelkrim Fanon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afdal Tahar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afdal Tahar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Makhloufi Messai in the 34th minute of play. If Makhloufi Messai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Makhloufi Messai blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afdal Tahar having to make a save. In the 48th minute, Makhloufi Messai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abdelkrim Fanon to strike the kick off in the second half. Zoubir Yachir might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abdel Sofyane. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zoubir Yachir ran back to his position shaking his head. When Zoubir Yachir came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Annscroft fans jumped to their feet. Karim Meskine hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. A collision led to Annscroft getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Moncef Ghoumari hit a great ball. Abdelkrim Fanon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Abdelkrim Fanon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afdal Tahar was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Moncef Ghoumari hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Barhill FC's zone, Zoubir Yachir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdel Sofyane came out of the goal and Zoubir Yachir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Annscroft's Mahmoud Allam got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zoubir Yachir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Abdel Sofyane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 87 minutes, Makhloufi Messai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barhill FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Makhloufi Messai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Halim Mammech fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barhill FC's protests and gave Halim Mammech a yellow card for diving instead. 93 minutes into the game, one of Barhill FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Annscroft a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abderaouf Sahnouni, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Barhill FC's Abdel Sofyane. 1-0. Barhill FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
