In the 49th minute the ball was on its way in behind South Shields's goalkeeper Idriss Cherrad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mustapha Baltadji to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustapha Baltadji in the 53rd minute of play forced South Shields's goalkeeper Idriss Cherrad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. South Shields's Nacim Ouenjelli got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nacim Ouenjelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noureddine Amrouni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdallah Fechtali in the 66th minute of play. In the 74thth minute of the game Abdallah Fechtali who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Crookes United's Noureddine Amrouni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nacim Ouenjelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Nacim Ouenjelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abdallah Fechtali received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Noureddine Amrouni came out and tried to block the shot, but Abdallah Fechtali slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 87th minute. If Nacim Ouenjelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Crookes United's Mustapha Baltadji in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye South Shields's goalie prevented a goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
