The supporters of Springfield booed when Leiston United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miloud Chadli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rabah Fillali recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Rabah Fillali left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Springfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Springfield's Abdelkarim Achiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Badr Madouni in the 38th minute of play. Tedj Hasni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Badr Madouni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Springfield had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
