After 25 played minutes, Lightwater's Tayeb Soltani shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anas Mokdad came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Zoheir Belmellat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdelkader Aziz, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Achraf Mezdad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lightwater's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achraf Mezdad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Lightwater's Zoheir Belmellat got control of the ball when Amhaws Semghouni tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Abdelkader Aziz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
