Yassine Ounissi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abed Saadane having to interfere. Berkwan Mhenni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd match minute, Poynton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Safy Bendali to maneuver through the defense. After 24 minutes, Billel Yahia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Redruth AFC and the Poynton players grew even worse after the yellow card. Redruth AFC's Abed Saadane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yassine Ounissi in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zinedine Menia in the 38th minute of play forced Poynton's goalkeeper Adel Bahari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Poynton's Adel Bahari proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Poynton from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the match, Poynton's goal looked a bit too open when Zinedine Menia came free, but Adel Bahari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ilyes Banouas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 52nd minute Berkwan Mhenni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abed Saadane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abed Saadane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berkwan Mhenni in the 56th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Redruth AFC's Djafar Zouccal got a free kick in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Poynton booed when Redruth AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Djafar Zouccal didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Redruth AFC's Abed Saadane got control of the ball when Yassine Ounissi tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Berkwan Mhenni in the 69th minute of play forced Redruth AFC's goalkeeper Abed Saadane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Zinedine Menia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Redruth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zinedine Menia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 played minutes Redruth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Lounes Nima. Berkwan Mhenni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abed Saadane having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Berkwan Mhenni fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Yassine Ounissi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Berkwan Mhenni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poynton's supporters rose to their feet, but Berkwan Mhenni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abed Saadane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abed Saadane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berkwan Mhenni in the 87th minute of the match.
