The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaddour Cherfa got free with Djafar Guellil in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute, Malek Djura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berkhamsted fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Malek Djura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Abdellah Dahmane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdellah Dahmane showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nasreddine Adjimi in the 24th minute of the match. Kaddour Cherfa scored 2-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Djafar Guellil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ayachi Matmour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Eastbourne's zone, Nasreddine Adjimi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdellah Dahmane came out of the goal and Nasreddine Adjimi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nasreddine Adjimi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdellah Dahmane having to interfere. Berkhamsted's Nasreddine Adjimi got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Malek Djura made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Halim Meriem mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eastbourne and the Berkhamsted players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Eastbourne getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Halim Meriem hit a great ball. 54 minutes into the match, Ayachi Matmour had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Djafar Guellil. Berkhamsted's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ayachi Matmour was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After a rather tough play, Eastbourne's Halim Meriem got a free kick in the 57th minute. Nasreddine Adjimi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the game, Eastbourne's Ayachi Matmour nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Djafar Guellil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Eastbourne's Kaddour Cherfa got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Kaddour Cherfa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Djafar Guellil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ayachi Matmour, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdellah Dahmane was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Achour Kerbouche showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-2 in the 76 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Abdellah Dahmane successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 93 minutes into the match, Eastbourne's Kaddour Cherfa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Djafar Guellil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Berkhamsted's Djafar Guellil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ayachi Matmour in the 94th minute of play. If Ayachi Matmour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berkhamsted's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
