Spectators: 6735 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Mouloud Madjer started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaddour Foughali got free with Gad Athbedj in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th match minute, Dereham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mouley Hadjadj to maneuver through the defense. When Mouloud Madjer came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Ashington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mouloud Madjer couldn't finish the play. Ashington:s Gad Athbedj showed great skill when he stopped Nadir Djenia:s penalty. In the 17thth minute of the game Akram Raho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dereham's Lounes Kosbi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Karim Arouani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Gad Athbedj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gad Athbedj didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adid Meriem went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute, Karim Arouani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute Nadir Djenia managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Adid Meriem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gad Athbedj read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Ashington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chams Adjani to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Dereham's Nadir Djenia tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ashington booed when Dereham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naoufel Mazouna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Akram Raho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 53rd match minute, Ashington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chams Adjani to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adid Meriem in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gad Athbedj prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Akram Raho came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Ashington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Akram Raho couldn't finish the play. If Chih Sermadji had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lounes Kosbi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Akram Raho in the 66th minute. Samir Khelaifia hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Mouloud Madjer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karim Arouani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dereham's Karim Arouani in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ashington's goalie prevented a goal. Ashington's Gad Athbedj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adid Meriem in the 81st minute of play. In the 87th minute Naoufel Mazouna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gad Athbedj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes of play, Dereham's Adid Meriem made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gad Athbedj was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Karim Arouani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Karim Arouani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ashington players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Dereham.
