Spectators: 6756 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1756, VIP seats: 0) Mebarek Sermadji made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 8th minute of the match Asmil Sam shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nadir Djenane showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bachir Lacen scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nadir Djenane, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dida Merah charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dida Merah the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Rayleigh:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Petersfield AFC:s goal. In the 24thth minute of the game Mebarek Sermadji who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rayleigh's Noureddine Rabiâ was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 26 played minutes Petersfield AFC got a freekick which was hit by Adid Saïb. Adid Saïb's late challenge caught a Rayleigh's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adid Saïb helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Petersfield AFC's Adid Saïb got a free kick in the 30th minute. The supporters of Rayleigh booed when Petersfield AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bahi Hamdoud didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 38 minutes of play, Rayleigh's Bachir Lacen made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nadir Djenane was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nadir Djenane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Merouane Benmabrouk, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half Rayleigh were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bachir Lacen to strike the kick off in the second half. Merouane Benmabrouk struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Nadir Djenane didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rayleigh. Nadir Djenane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bachir Lacen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Mebarek Sermadji shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noureddine Rabiâ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merouane Benmabrouk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Nadir Djenane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Rayleigh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belkacem Rezzoug to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rayleigh walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
