Wimbledon's Abdelkader Fnardji played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cherif Belghith in the 10th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Fahd Kouici got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Abdelkader Fnardji made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fahd Kouici in the 23rd minute. Nordine Mohamed kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Bachir Matmour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lunis Liegeon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Ismael Bensaoula was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brighouse FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wimbledon the free kick. The referee gave Wimbledon a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nacer-Eddine Ulansi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Brighouse FC's Bachir Matmour. 0-2. 42 minutes into the match, Wimbledon's goal looked a bit too open when Cherif Belghith came free, but Abdelkader Fnardji reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cherif Belghith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Abdelkader Fnardji tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cherif Belghith in the 46th minute of play forced Wimbledon's goalkeeper Abdelkader Fnardji to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cherif Belghith made a kick off. Fahd Kouici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdelkader Fnardji having to interfere. In the 59th minute Cherif Belghith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdelkader Fnardji saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brighouse FC's Fahd Kouici got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cherif Belghith struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Abdelkader Fnardji didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brighouse FC. The Wimbledon fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Wimbledon's Lunis Liegeon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Wimbledon's Sammy Haddou got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute, Abdallah Kensi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Wimbledon's Razi Athbedj got a free kick in the 81st minute. Brighouse FC's Bachir Matmour proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Brighouse FC from getting a goal against them. Bachir Matmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Haddou in the 85th minute of play. Cherif Belghith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Abdelkader Fnardji tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Brighouse FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sammy Haddou came free, but Bachir Matmour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Wimbledon had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
