Boualem Asma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fouad Bouzid in the 34th minute of the match. When Mabrouk Faudel fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kenilworth's protests and gave Mabrouk Faudel a yellow card for diving instead. After 36 played minutes Kenilworth got a freekick which was hit by Mabrouk Faudel. In the 43rd minute Idras Labi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boualem Asma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes, Cheb Adjani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kenilworth and the Alston AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Idras Labi in the 47th minute of play forced Kenilworth's goalkeeper Boualem Asma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Idras Labi to strike the kick off in the second half. Kenilworth's Boualem Asma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Kenilworth from getting a goal against them. Alston AFC's Salim Zemirli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Madjid Bouzid in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Alston AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mohamed Zouccal to maneuver through the defense. Salim Zemirli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdessalem Ighil in the 66th minute of play. Alston AFC's Salim Zemirli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdessalem Ighil in the 74th minute of play. Boualem Asma made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Idras Labi sent off a good shot on target. The Alston AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alston AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
