Melton Mowbray's Boudjemaa Bencherif played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Losif Saboundji in the 3rd minute of play. When Rayan Benbitour fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bayton United's protests and gave Rayan Benbitour a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Bayton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rayan Benbitour to maneuver through the defense. Mokhtar Adjaoud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bahnini Merbah, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Rachid Brahmi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mokhtar Adjaoud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdelmadjid Guellil kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Djillali Hanoune sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th match minute, Bayton United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rayan Benbitour to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Melton Mowbray's Boumedienne Boudjedra tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bahnini Merbah in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mokhtar Adjaoud prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Rachid Brahmi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bayton United's Mokhtar Adjaoud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Bayton United from getting a goal against them. Rachid Brahmi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mokhtar Adjaoud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bahnini Merbah received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mokhtar Adjaoud came out and tried to block the shot, but Bahnini Merbah slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, Melton Mowbray's Bahnini Merbah got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute Djillali Hanoune shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boudjemaa Bencherif saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bahnini Merbah was the one to do the kick off. Bahnini Merbah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mokhtar Adjaoud having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Melton Mowbray's Boumedienne Boudjedra broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bahnini Merbah in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mokhtar Adjaoud saved Bayton United from getting behind. Brahim Agab kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Boumedienne Boudjedra struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Mokhtar Adjaoud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melton Mowbray. Rachid Brahmi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Djillali Hanoune had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bahnini Merbah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mokhtar Adjaoud having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Melton Mowbray fully deserved thier win.
