In the 9th minute of the match Lakhdar Haddou sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abdelhafid Cohen skillfully saved the ball. If Lamine Zerara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Idir Nima in the 19th minute of play forced Hardwick AFC's goalkeeper Nadir Soumati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Idir Nima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nadir Soumati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Haverhill's goal looked a bit too open when Salah Sellal came free, but Abdelhafid Cohen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haverhill's Abdelhafid Cohen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Djamel Fetani in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Hamid Belloumi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abdelhafid Cohen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Djamel Fetani in the 45th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Salah Sellal to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Djamel Fetani got free with Abdelhafid Cohen in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Said El Ouchem charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Said El Ouchem the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 60 played minutes Hardwick AFC got a freekick which was hit by Said El Ouchem. Nacer Chebal's late challenge caught a Hardwick AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nacer Chebal helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hardwick AFC booed when Haverhill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nacer Chebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haverhill's Abdelhafid Cohen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salah Sellal in the 64th minute of play. If Idir Nima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustapha El Hadi during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hardwick AFC were furious when Toufik Halimi was red carded, 83 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Hardwick AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Haverhill:s goal. 85 minutes into the game, Nahil Menguellet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Nadir Soumati was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Haverhill's Idir Nima got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Haverhill's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
