Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Wem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rugby the free kick. Hamid Amara might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noureddine Metref. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamid Amara ran back to his position shaking his head. 5 minutes into the game, Rugby's Hamid Amara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noureddine Metref made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rugby's Hamid Amara got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hamid Amara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noureddine Metref showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Khabatou, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wem's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mohamed Reddad was slow to take the kick. During this time Rugby's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Rugby's corner Fouad Ouatah fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Noureddine Metref quite easily take care of the ball. Hamid Amara struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Noureddine Metref didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rugby. Noureddine Metref took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Nasri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamid Amara in the 24th minute of play forced Wem's goalkeeper Noureddine Metref to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamid Amara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hamid Amara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noureddine Metref having to interfere. Fadel Zemmam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ali Nasri might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noureddine Metref. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Nasri ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamid Amara in the 42nd minute of play forced Wem's goalkeeper Noureddine Metref to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Islem Bouguerra was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Fadel Zemmam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wem's supporters rose to their feet, but Fadel Zemmam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ajdir Messaoudi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 52 minutes, Mokhtar Kahouadji mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rugby and the Wem players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Rugby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mokhtar Kahouadji to maneuver through the defense. Ali Nasri hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After 55 played minutes, Wem's Larbi Kerbouche shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ajdir Messaoudi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wem reached it. Hamid Amara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Wem's Noureddine Metref got control of the ball when Ali Nasri tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 63 minutes, Fadel Zemmam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fadel Zemmam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hamid Amara was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. Rugby's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Rugby's Hamid Amara in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wem's goalie prevented a goal. Rugby's Ajdir Messaoudi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fadel Zemmam in the 83rd minute of play. Ali Nasri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noureddine Metref having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Ali Nasri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hamid Amara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Noureddine Metref tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Fouad Ouatah came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Rugby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fouad Ouatah couldn't finish the play.
