Spectators: 6955 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1955, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when David Vila-Santa got the match started through his kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Morpeth's goal looked a bit too open when David Vila-Santa came free, but Edmundo Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Flavio Akwa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morpeth's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ilfracombe United the free kick. The supporters of Ilfracombe United booed when Morpeth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Akwa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Vila-Santa in the 9th minute of the match. When Tozé Varanda came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Ilfracombe United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tozé Varanda couldn't finish the play. Tozé Varanda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Sá having to interfere. João Carlos Rebello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Canales having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Amado in the 34th minute of play forced Morpeth's goalkeeper Edmundo Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Vila-Santa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Edmundo Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tozé Varanda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when João Carlos Rebello made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Quim Preto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Morpeth's Custódio Matta got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmundo Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tozé Varanda in the 56th minute of the match. Tiago Canales didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Custódio Matta went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If David Vila-Santa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Custódio Matta struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Tiago Canales didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morpeth. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Rebello in the 75th minute of play forced Ilfracombe United's goalkeeper Tiago Canales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Custódio Matta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiago Canales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ilfracombe United's Heitor Freire got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Custódio Matta in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tiago Canales , who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tiago Canales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Carlos Rebello, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. If João Carlos Rebello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, David Vila-Santa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edmundo Sá. Morpeth's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Vila-Santa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
