The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Lima Clemente got free with Edmundo Sá in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Morpeth booed when Rayleigh City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Ezequiel Niz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonso Meneses ran back to his position shaking his head. After 45 played minutes Rayleigh City got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Ezequiel Niz . After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Meneses was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Rayleigh City's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Rebello came free, but Custódio Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Custódio Matta could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Custódio Jacinto however easily saved by the left post. In the 56th minute, Custódio Matta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Rayleigh City defense, Custódio Matta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Custódio Jacinto. The Rayleigh City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Custódio Jacinto should have stopped the shot. Flavio Akwa kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Morpeth's Edmundo Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Meneses in the 65th minute of play. Edmundo Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Meneses in the 67th minute of the match. In the 98th minute Flavio Akwa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Morpeth players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Rayleigh City from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
