After 16 minutes of play, Rayleigh City's Miguel Lima Clemente made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Saúl Novais was left in no man's land by his defense there! Saúl Novais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Meneses's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 32nd match minute, Ebley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Caetano to maneuver through the defense. Ebley FC's Saúl Novais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Malafaia in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ebley FC's zone, Afonso Meneses stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saúl Novais came out of the goal and Afonso Meneses tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saúl Novais didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Lima Clemente went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute, Afonso Meneses got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emílio Meneses was the one to do the kick off. Heitor Mendes hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ebley FC booed when Rayleigh City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Montoia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Hipólito Fonseca took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Custódio Jacinto to make any attempt to save it. After 62 played minutes Ebley FC got a freekick which was hit by Gregório Jacinto. With a little luck, Rayleigh City's Custódio Jacinto got control of the ball when Gregório Jacinto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Afonso Ezequiel Niz 's late challenge caught a Ebley FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Ezequiel Niz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ebley FC booed when Rayleigh City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Ezequiel Niz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Ebley FC's Heitor Mendes tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Custódio Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emílio Meneses, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Delmano Dos Santos charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmano Dos Santos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hipólito Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Custódio Jacinto having to interfere. Afonso Ezequiel Niz hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. A nice corner shot did that Heitor Mendes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Custódio Jacinto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 92nd minute, Afonso Ezequiel Niz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Afonso Ezequiel Niz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso Meneses struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Saúl Novais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rayleigh City. Rayleigh City walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
