After some careless play in the Bacup AFC defense, Afonso Meneses kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hector Jacinto. The Bacup AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hector Jacinto should have stopped the shot. Miguel Lima Clemente struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Hector Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Lima Clemente in the 41st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Meneses in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hector Jacinto saved Bacup AFC from getting behind. The supporters of Bacup AFC booed when Rayleigh City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Lima Clemente didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
