The Morpeth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Evandro Mulenza FC's goalkeeper Custódio Rochedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Carlos Rebello took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Custódio Rochedo. Custódio Rochedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Custódio Rochedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Custódio Matta, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, João Carlos Rebello made a precise shot to the right of Custódio Rochedo. Evandro Mulenza FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 26th minute, João Carlos Rebello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Simões hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Rolando Godinho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Edmundo Sá when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Balduíno Areosa made in the 40th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hipólito Lourenço immediately put the ball in play. After a defensive mix-up in Evandro Mulenza FC's zone, João Carlos Rebello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Custódio Rochedo came out of the goal and João Carlos Rebello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Evandro Mulenza FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Rebello came free, but Custódio Rochedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Custódio Matta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Morpeth fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Carlos Rebello made a kick off. Custódio Rochedo made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Custódio Matta sent off a good shot on target. Zé Bastos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmundo Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Bastos in the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute João Carlos Rebello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Custódio Rochedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Zé Bastos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evandro Mulenza FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when João Carlos Rebello 69 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-8. Custódio Matta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Custódio Rochedo having to make a save. Morpeth's João Carlos Rebello got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Evandro Mulenza FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Rebello came free, but Custódio Rochedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Carlos Rebello struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Custódio Rochedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Morpeth. David Akwa kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Custódio Rochedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Akwa, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Morpeth supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Morpeth would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
