After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Lourenço Lourenço managed to get in a good position for a shot. Otterham AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lourenço Lourenço was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregório Bouça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Otterham AFC booed when Petro de Luanda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felíx Dikaté didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petro de Luanda's Gregório Bouça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Petro de Luanda from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Petro de Luanda's Paulo Regalado got a free kick in the 26th minute. Otterham AFC's Albertino Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Rogério Dos Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petro de Luanda's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Dos Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Lima Clemente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Albertino Simões made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Rogério Dos Santos made a precise shot to the right of Rui Lima Clemente. Otterham AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Otterham AFC's Rui Lima Clemente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nito Curvelo in the 59th minute of play. When Nito Curvelo came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Petro de Luanda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nito Curvelo couldn't finish the play. Lourenço Lourenço recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd minute Nito Curvelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Lima Clemente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Lima Clemente having to interfere. Gregório Bouça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertino Simões , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogério Dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th match minute, Otterham AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tozé Dikaté to maneuver through the defense. Rui Lima Clemente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nito Curvelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogério Dos Santos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Lima Clemente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. The Petro de Luanda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Petro de Luanda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
