A very good chance. In the 16th minute Ailton Amado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alda Da Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Barreiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Barreiros came out of the goal and Marílio Lima Clemente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Penistone City's Ailton Amado got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulo Gonçalves hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Hipólito Fonseca took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alda Da Costa. Cubo Verde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Penistone City's David Barreiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marílio Lima Clemente in the 38th minute of play. Alda Da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ailton Amado, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Marílio Lima Clemente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ailton Amado to make the kick off. Cubo Verde's Luís Melo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fábio Borges in the 85 minute of the game. Luís Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Barreiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Rodrigo Malheiro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Alda Da Costa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hipólito Fonseca . The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Gonçalves during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
