The audience thought a goal was coming when Manuel Novais got free with Avelino Novais in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Avelino Novais was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Pôncio Bouça capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Pôncio Bouça really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Manuel Novais could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Avelino Novais made a huge save. In the 18th minute, Diamantino Areosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Avelino Novais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pôncio Bouça in the 31st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Manuel Novais took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Avelino Novais to make any attempt to save it. Clube Recreativo Operário's Avelino Novais proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Recreativo Operário from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Mendes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Avelino Novais didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marílio Caneças went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Clube Recreativo Operário defense, Manuel Novais kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Avelino Novais. The Clube Recreativo Operário fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Avelino Novais should have stopped the shot. Avelino Novais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Felício, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Marílio Caneças took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Avelino Novais. Avelino Novais dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After 68 minutes, Hector Godinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube Recreativo Operário and the Recreativo FC® players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clube Recreativo Operário's Hector Godinho got a free kick in the 68th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Vítor Polido in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Clube Recreativo Operário's Pôncio Fernandes Braga. Clube Recreativo Operário's Avelino Novais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Novais in the 75th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Pôncio Bouça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Recreativo FC® fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 85th minute Pôncio Bouça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avelino Novais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Recreativo FC® getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Vítor Polido hit a great ball. Recreativo FC® walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
