Carlos Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Suazo in the 26th minute of play. Marcelo Barreiros hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The supporters of Académica do Lobito booed when Angola United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Académica do Lobito's Austen Waller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Barreiros in the 40th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Angola United got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Gonçalves. In the 43rd minute, Miguel Onas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Angola United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Académica do Lobito were winning 0-2.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Suazo got free with Carlos Bastos in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Louis Lumb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Angola United's Carlos Bastos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Angola United from getting a goal against them. Académica do Lobito's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
