Spectators: 7886 (Terracing: 5915, Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 157) Mawetu Qabi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Khomane, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Takalani Radebe succeeded in the game's 13th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Timothy Khomane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Mawetu Qabi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute Timothy Khomane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mawetu Qabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Madiya recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joseph Mhlongo took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised William Josephs. William Josephs dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. William Josephs came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Spears FC's Joseph Mhlongo. But to his dismay, Joseph Mhlongo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Spears FC's Mawetu Qabi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takalani Radebe in the 42nd minute of play. Joseph Mhlongo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Josephs having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Takalani Radebe made the kick off in the second half. When Timothy Khomane came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Maryland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timothy Khomane couldn't finish the play. Justice Modipa's late challenge caught a Maryland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justice Modipa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, Spears FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justice Modipa to maneuver through the defense. Mawetu Qabi didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Maryland's Takalani Radebe shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-2 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 69th minute Takalani Radebe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mawetu Qabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lungie Mokatimi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. Maryland's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Joseph Mhlongo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spears FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joseph Mhlongo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Josephs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Takalani Radebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 90 minutes of play, Spears FC's Alex Madiya made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. William Josephs was left in no man's land by his defense there! William Josephs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Mhlongo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Maryland players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Spears FC.
