But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shakeel Etafia couldn't finish the play. After having played for 46 minutes, Melusi Khomane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ematimatolo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melusi Khomane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Shakeel Etafia made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hanile Magagane in the 51st minute of play forced FC Ematimatolo's goalkeeper Etienne Thobejane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 52 played minutes FC Ematimatolo got a freekick which was hit by Bradley Bartlett. In the 54th minute Charles Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Etienne Thobejane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lindo Thembe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Etienne Thobejane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Shakeel Etafia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Charles Thompson managed to get in a good position for a shot. ÇATAL DERE SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Thompson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Etienne Thobejane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lindo Thembe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Etienne Thobejane having to interfere. Etienne Thobejane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lindo Thembe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Shakeel Etafia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melusi Khomane succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 74th playminute. Terence Lekgwathi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shakeel Etafia in the 78th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Lindo Thembe made a precise shot to the right of Etienne Thobejane. FC Ematimatolo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melusi Khomane in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Terence Lekgwathi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match was over FC Ematimatolo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ÇATAL DERE SK throughout the match.
