If Andre Mabalane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Andre Mabalane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Michu Stars United's supporters rose to their feet, but Andre Mabalane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lindo Radebe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Michu Stars United's Gary Fortuin in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Monsterlus's goalie prevented a goal. If Gary Fortuin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 15 minutes into the game, Andre Mabalane lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Lindo Radebe. Lindo Radebe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gary Fortuin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th match minute, Michu Stars United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Mokhasi to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 20 minutes, Tomas Kerns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Monsterlus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Kerns was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Gary Fortuin put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lindo Radebe. If Andre Mabalane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gary Fortuin in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lindo Radebe saved FC Monsterlus from getting behind. 3-0 became the score in the 33rd minute when Gary Fortuin elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 36 minutes, Daniel Bartlett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Michu Stars United and the FC Monsterlus players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre Mabalane got free with Lindo Radebe in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Monsterlus's Lindo Radebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Fortuin in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gary Fortuin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lindo Radebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thabo Stoltz, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Michu Stars United's Gary Fortuin got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nicolas Sephadi kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Tomas Kerns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jabu Zwane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Leon Mokhasi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jabu Zwane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Kerns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leon Mokhasi kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, FC Monsterlus's Patrick Patel broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of FC Monsterlus booed when Michu Stars United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thami Mnisi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andre Collins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the game, Maluleke Mufadi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Michu Stars United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Monsterlus the free kick. Maluleke Mufadi kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. If Tomas Kerns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Monsterlus's Lindo Radebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Fortuin in the 87th minute of play. When Sizwe Pretorius fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Monsterlus's protests and gave Sizwe Pretorius a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Michu Stars United booed when FC Monsterlus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sizwe Pretorius didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Andre Mabalane came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Michu Stars United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andre Mabalane couldn't finish the play. Gary Fortuin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michu Stars United walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
