When Timothy Madiya got free in front of the goal in the 8th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Jabu Zwane was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Timothy Madiya came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Blue Birds FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timothy Madiya couldn't finish the play. Shakeel Bandura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jabu Zwane having to interfere. Timothy Madiya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jabu Zwane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jabu Zwane didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shakeel Bandura went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Timothy Madiya recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Shakeel Bandura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Jabu Zwane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gary Fortuin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Michael Madiba came out and tried to block the shot, but Gary Fortuin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gary Fortuin in the 37th minute of play forced Blue Birds FC's goalkeeper Michael Madiba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Shongwe kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After having played for 38 minutes, Gary Fortuin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Michu Stars United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gary Fortuin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dean Magagane during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Blue Birds FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Dean Magagane hit a great ball. When Nicolas Sephadi fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Michu Stars United's protests and gave Nicolas Sephadi a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Blue Birds FC a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wycliffe Mayoyo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Michu Stars United's Jabu Zwane. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shakeel Bandura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Andre Mabalane left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Michu Stars United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 59th minute, Andre Mabalane ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michael Madiba was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Jabu Zwane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timothy Madiya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Shakeel Bandura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blue Birds FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. 73 minutes into the match, Michu Stars United's goalkeeper Jabu Zwane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shakeel Bandura. After a rather tough play, Michu Stars United's Leon Mokhasi got a free kick in the 79th minute. Timothy Madiya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Timothy Madiya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Birds FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothy Madiya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jabu Zwane breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Michu Stars United's Andre Mabalane in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Blue Birds FC:s Michael Madiba showed great skill when he stopped Lucas Magakula:s penalty. 91 minutes into the match, Shakeel Bandura notched a goal, 3-5, to the right of Michu Stars United's Jabu Zwane. Jabu Zwane was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Blue Birds FC booed when Michu Stars United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thami Mnisi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Timothy Madiya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
