Kingston Magakula recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simamane Tembes short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Legako Nomvete to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 10 played minutes Yzerfontein got a freekick which was hit by Thami Mumede. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucky Madiba during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute, Lucky Madiba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kingston Magakula in the 18th minute of play forced Yzerfontein's goalkeeper Legako Nomvete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Yzerfontein's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Johann Pretorius was slow to take the kick. During this time Mfanta's players had a chance to rest. Kingston Magakula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Legako Nomvete having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simamane Tembe during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 34 minutes into the game, Thami Mumede cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lindo Mokhasi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 40 minutes into the game, Yzerfontein's Thomas Miti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lindo Mokhasi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Lindo Mokhasi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Miti in the 43rd minute of play. After 46 minutes, Alfred Tshabalala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mfanta and the Yzerfontein players grew even worse after the yellow card. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Alex Takalani hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, Kingston Magakula got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Alpheus Smith fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yzerfontein's protests and gave Alpheus Smith a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Yzerfontein got a freekick which was hit by Alpheus Smith. Legako Nomvete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kingston Magakula in the 64th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes Yzerfontein got a freekick which was hit by Thami Mumede. Kingston Magakula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Legako Nomvete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 78 minutes, Thomas Miti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yzerfontein's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Miti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by Thabile Nomvete got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Yzerfontein's Legako Nomvete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kingston Magakula in the 85th minute of play.
