After recieving a nice pass, Thusano's Bernard Mabele tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Blaauwdrift getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Maxwell Mumede hit a great ball. Rafael Josephs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Musa Radebe having to interfere. If Rafael Josephs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Blaauwdrift's Musa Radebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Josephs in the 41st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Rafael Josephs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thusano's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Josephs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Musa Radebe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Josephs was the one to do the kick off. Tyrell Modipa might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Johann Smith. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tyrell Modipa ran back to his position shaking his head. 59 minutes into the match, Thusano's goal looked a bit too open when Jabu Takalani came free, but Johann Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 62 minutes, Thabo Josephs made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Blaauwdrift's Musa Radebe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Thabo Josephs struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Musa Radebe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thusano. After 67th play minutes Tyrell Modipa shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Johann Smith and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Thusano's zone, Tyrell Modipa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johann Smith came out of the goal and Tyrell Modipa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jabu Takalani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johann Smith having to interfere. Thabo Josephs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Josephs couldn't finish the play. In the 94th match minute, Blaauwdrift was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lesego Edwards to maneuver through the defense. Thusano were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
