The tension between the Bute and the Burgersdorf players grew even worse after the yellow card. Legako Sephiri hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Gordon Macheke was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 17 played minutes Bute got a freekick which was hit by Maluleke Phakathi. A collision led to Burgersdorf getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. William Mothobi hit a great ball. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bute's goalkeeper Tebogo Mncube, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cornell Edwards had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norman Melele got free with Tebogo Mncube in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th minute, Thomas Ngake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Harry Thembe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tebogo Mncube was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Tebogo Mncube made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Norman Melele sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 47 minutes, Harry Thembe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burgersdorf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harry Thembe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Kingston Mandela made the kick off in the second half. Kingston Mandela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Papi Tshabalala made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Cornell Edwards sent off a good shot on target. If Norman Melele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tebogo Mncube took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Melele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 played minutes Burgersdorf got a freekick which was hit by Norman Melele. Kingston Mandela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Bute getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Francis Manyethela hit a great ball. Harry Thembe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tebogo Mncube having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norman Melele in the 89th minute of play forced Bute's goalkeeper Tebogo Mncube to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maluleke Phakathi during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bute players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Burgersdorf.
