The referee showed Jason Ngake the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nelson Vanker was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Bernard Thebe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bernard Thebe really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. During the 27th minute of the match Jason Ngake completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. It was beautiful to see FC Sabierivier's Norman Collins in action when he in the 39th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 41st minute, Papi Tshabalala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Sabierivier's Nelson Vanker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernard Thebe in the 44th minute of play. Bernard Thebe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nelson Vanker having to make a save. In the 47th match minute, FC Sabierivier was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thabo Liau to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Papi Tshabalala was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to FC Sabierivier getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Johann Mokatimi hit a great ball. 52 minutes into the match, FC Sabierivier's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Thebe came free, but Nelson Vanker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brandon Fredericks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Nelson Vanker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Brandon Fredericks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brandon Fredericks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nelson Vanker having to interfere. Kalkbank's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johannes Ngake was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 94 minutes into the game, Patrice Makweni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kalkbank's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Sabierivier the free kick.
