When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Tebogo Wanani sped through FC Papfontein's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Daniel Dube. 18 minutes into the match, Gaandrik's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Bandura came free, but Dean Sono reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Gaandrik booed when FC Papfontein was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Bandura didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Papfontein's Daniel Dube played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Bartlett in the 44th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Papfontein's zone, Tebogo Wanani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Dube came out of the goal and Tebogo Wanani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dean Bartlett was the one to do the kick off. In the 56thth minute of the game Tebogo Wanani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Papfontein's Daniel Dube was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gaandrik's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Etienne Mayoyo 61 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Dean Sono took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Etienne Mayoyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the game, Mthunzi Maduna lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Dean Sono. Mthunzi Maduna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mthunzi Maduna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Sono having to interfere. If Etienne Mayoyo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mthunzi Maduna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Dean Sono when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The long shot by Shaheed Melele in the 92nd minute really tested Dean Sono's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The FC Papfontein fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when FC Papfontein's Etienne Mayoyo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Elias Inguana hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Daniel Dube took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tebogo Wanani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The FC Papfontein supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Papfontein would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
