Jason Madiba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute of the match, Kenny Nkadimeng tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Darren Miti saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ismail Thembe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Edwards in the 16th minute of play. Ismail Thembe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andre Edwards in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Jomo Makweni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismail Thembe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, FC Povall was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Thembe to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Apple fc's Sam Laher broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 25 minutes into the match, Apple fc's Andre Edwards sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ismail Thembe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Andre Edwards in the 27th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Jomo Makweni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kenny Magagane during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Povall's Kenny Magagane got a free kick in the 31st minute. Ismail Thembe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jomo Makweni's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucky Makweni during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Apple fc a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sam Laher, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Povall's Ismail Thembe. 0-1. Apple fc's Andre Edwards got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jason Madiba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, FC Povall's Ismail Thembe got control of the ball when Jomo Makweni tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ismail Thembe came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Apple fc's Andre Edwards. But to his dismay, Andre Edwards quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. FC Povall's Jason Madiba got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, Apple fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jomo Makweni to maneuver through the defense. Andre Edwards received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ismail Thembe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Apple fc's Jomo Makweni got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jomo Makweni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismail Thembe having to interfere. In the 79th minute Apple fc were awarded a corner. Sam Laher went to the cornerflag to take it. Andre Edwards made a great header on Apple fc's corner, it was just that FC Povall's Ismail Thembe managed to reach the ball for a save. Darren Miti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Nkadimeng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jomo Makweni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jomo Makweni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apple fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Jomo Makweni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismail Thembe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jomo Makweni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Apple fc left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Povall.
