Knud Hofmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeff Mafuna, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the match, Lorraine's goal looked a bit too open when Nicholas Kekana came free, but Silas Mhlongo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicholas Kekanas short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Silas Mhlongo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 8 minutes into the game, Nicholas Kekana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Silas Mhlongo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 12th play minutes Nicholas Kekana shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Silas Mhlongo and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 17th minute Samuel Dinha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Knud Hofmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Manchester united booed when Lorraine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Mafuna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicholas Kekana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Manchester united's Nicholas Kekana got a free kick in the 24th minute. Nicholas Kekana's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Silas Mhlongo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Knud Hofmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Mumede in the 29th minute of the match. A hard shot 31 in the game by Nicholas Kekana from a close distance when the talented Silas Mhlongo managed to make a qualified save. Lorraine's players were relieved. Nicholas Kekana kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Manchester united's Knud Hofmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeff Mafuna in the 39th minute of play. If Nicholas Kekana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thabile Inguana charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thabile Inguana the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thabile Inguana kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicholas Kekana to make the kick off. The supporters of Lorraine booed when Manchester united was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thabile Inguana didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicholas Kekana in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silas Mhlongo saved Lorraine from getting behind. The supporters of Manchester united booed when Lorraine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Mumede didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silas Mhlongo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Kekana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thabile Inguana was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 68 played minutes Manchester united got a freekick which was hit by Thabile Inguana. Lorraine's Rob Komani shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 69th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Knud Hofmann but with some difficulty. Elias Collins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silas Mhlongo having to interfere. Nicholas Kekana struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Silas Mhlongo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester united. Manchester united's Nicholas Kekana got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Lorraine's Jeff Mafuna in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Manchester united's goalie prevented a goal. Silas Mhlongo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicholas Kekana in the 78th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lorraine's zone, Nicholas Kekana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silas Mhlongo came out of the goal and Nicholas Kekana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeff Mafuna kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 95 minutes into the game, Jeff Mafuna lined in a short shot 4-1 behind a frustrated Knud Hofmann. When the referee ended the match the Manchester united players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
