Promise Klein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maseti Kanku's late challenge caught a ZETONE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maseti Kanku helped the player get up and apologised. Maseti Kanku hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Jomo Kekana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Machete having to interfere. Promise Klein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shumani Mbule in the 19th minute of play. After 24 played minutes FC Culunca got a freekick which was hit by Tebogo Serage. ZETONE's Jabu Melele suffered a sore thigh after 31 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Mpho Arendse charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mpho Arendse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. ZETONE made a substitution. Nkosi Dinha replaced Jabu Melele. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Culunca fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! In the 36th match minute, FC Culunca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jomo Kekana to maneuver through the defense. Nkosi Dinha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Promise Klein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, ZETONE's Shumani Mbule sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Promise Klein narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, FC Culunca's goal looked a bit too open when Shumani Mbule came free, but Promise Klein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nkosi Dinha in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Promise Klein saved FC Culunca from getting behind. In the 46th minute Rob Okpara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Promise Klein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yacoob Tshabalala to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Rob Okpara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ZETONE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rob Okpara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of ZETONE booed when FC Culunca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jomo Kekana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shumani Mbule fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Promise Klein having to interfere. Jomo Kekana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Elias Machete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Yacoob Tshabalala, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 60 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Elias Machete was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When FC Culunca's Yacoob Tshabalala in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ZETONE's goalie prevented a goal. Rob Okpara was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. ZETONE's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 71 minutes into the game, Jomo Kekana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Culunca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ZETONE the free kick. After 71 played minutes FC Culunca got a freekick which was hit by Jomo Kekana. With a little luck, FC Culunca's Promise Klein got control of the ball when Rob Okpara tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jikolo Khomane during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 74 played minutes ZETONE got a freekick which was hit by Jikolo Khomane. Lazarus Mathibe's late challenge caught a FC Culunca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lazarus Mathibe helped the player get up and apologised. Lazarus Mathibe hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Yacoob Tshabalala sped through ZETONE's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elias Machete. In the 85th minute, Rob Okpara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Nkosi Dinha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rob Okpara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 91 played minutes FC Culunca got a freekick which was hit by Albert Magagane. Promise Klein made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Rob Okpara sent off a good shot on target. If Shumani Mbule had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
