After a defensive mix-up in Wolfkop's zone, Shaheed Nomvete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Mandla came out of the goal and Shaheed Nomvete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Steve Khumalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Elias Mandla made a huge save. In the 13th minute, Shaheed Nomvete fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Shaheed Nomvete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elias Mandla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shaheed Nomvete, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Lilyvale's Lungie Sewele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lungie Thebile in the 24th minute of play. Lungie Thebile received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Lungie Sewele tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lungie Thebile came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Wolfkop fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lungie Thebile couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute, Lungie Thebile got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wolfkop's goalkeeper Elias Mandla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Shaheed Nomvete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elias Mandla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shaheed Nomvete in the 46th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 82 minutes of play, Lilyvale's Shaheed Nomvete made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elias Mandla was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Shaheed Nomvete's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elias Mandla was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Steve Khumalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wolfkop's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
