FC Sixhotyeni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wolfkop the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of FC Sixhotyeni:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wolfkop:s goal. 25 minutes into the game, Wolfkop's Lungie Thebile nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nkosi Shoba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Elias Mandla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob Wanani in the 29th minute of play. A collision led to Wolfkop getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sam Sono hit a great ball. If Rob Wanani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Simamane Lekgwathi came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the FC Sixhotyeni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simamane Lekgwathi couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Rafael Thebe put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Elias Mandla. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lungie Thebile stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. FC Sixhotyeni's Nkosi Shoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lungie Thebile in the 55th minute of play. Akil Thebile hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Rob Wanani was extremely unlucky when he, in the 66th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of FC Sixhotyeni booed when Wolfkop was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Sono didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Arendse was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Simamane Lekgwathi managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Sixhotyeni's supporters rose to their feet, but Simamane Lekgwathi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Mandla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute Rob Wanani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Mandla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Wolfkop's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Wanani came free, but Elias Mandla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Rob Wanani took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Elias Mandla to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Lungie Thebile managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wolfkop's supporters rose to their feet, but Lungie Thebile was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nkosi Shoba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Sixhotyeni's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
