Spectators: 6856 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1856, VIP seats: 0) Thwalikhulu's Rafael Qabi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the game's 4th minute Thwalikhulu's Michael Radebe took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Francis Takane and thus the score was 0-1. David Nomvete hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Bernard Bandura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sibongile Mangope charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sibongile Mangope the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sibongile Mangope hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jafta Koen in the 16th minute of play forced Thwalikhulu's goalkeeper Albert Mkhize to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Thwalikhulu booed when FC Neandertal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jafta Koen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Mkhize showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jafta Koen in the 23rd minute of the match. Jafta Koen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Albert Mkhize tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Darren Edwards had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the match, Thwalikhulu's goalkeeper Albert Mkhize had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darren Edwards. In the 32nd minute, FC Neandertal's Jafta Koen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. FC Neandertal's Francis Takane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Qabi in the 36th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, FC Neandertal's Jafta Koen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Alpheus Arendse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Albert Mkhize tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Darren Edwards had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Mkhize. Thwalikhulu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Edwards was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jafta Koen to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 60 minutes, Jafta Koen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Neandertal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jafta Koen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Darren Edwards struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Albert Mkhize didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Neandertal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Radebe during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Thwalikhulu fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 72nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave FC Neandertal a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Harry Radebe, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Thwalikhulu's Albert Mkhize. 4-1. FC Neandertal's Francis Takane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Qabi in the 78th minute of play. Francis Takane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Qabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jafta Koen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Mkhize having to interfere. Harry Radebe kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, FC Neandertal's goalkeeper Francis Takane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernard Bandura. After some careless play in the FC Neandertal defense, Bernard Bandura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francis Takane. The FC Neandertal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francis Takane should have stopped the shot. Bernard Bandura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 101st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francis Takane having to interfere.
