Darren Mabalane shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. With a little luck, FC Neandertal's Francis Takane got control of the ball when Rabelani Shoba tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Boyisani Modipa fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Lonalis's protests and gave Boyisani Modipa a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Lonalis's Boyisani Modipa got a free kick in the 10th minute. 11 minutes into the match, FC Neandertal's Harry Radebe broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Darren Edwards had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rabelani Shobas short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Francis Takane to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Francis Takane made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Rabelani Shoba sent off a good shot on target. Lazarus Roberts kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. When Darren Edwards came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the FC Neandertal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darren Edwards couldn't finish the play. A collision led to FC Lonalis getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Oliver Mathibe hit a great ball. FC Neandertal:s Francis Takane showed great skill when he stopped Darren Mabalane:s penalty. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gordon Madima was the one to do the kick off. Francis Takane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rabelani Shoba, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Alpheus Arendse hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the match, FC Neandertal's goal looked a bit too open when Gordon Madima came free, but Francis Takane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC Neandertal getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Kingston Dinha hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the match, Gordon Madima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Francis Takane. FC Neandertal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gordon Madima was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of FC Neandertal booed when FC Lonalis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lazarus Roberts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alpheus Arendse kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. If Gordon Madima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alpheus Arendse during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darren Edwards got free with Aubrey Thobejane in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in FC Neandertal's zone, Rabelani Shoba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francis Takane came out of the goal and Rabelani Shoba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Akil Mangope kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute of the match Darren Mabalane sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francis Takane skillfully saved the ball. FC Lonalis were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Neandertal for a fine match.
