The audience was convinced that Silas Laher's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Allan Inguana was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. In the 37th match minute, FC lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Klaasens to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, FC lions's Mthunzi Webb got a free kick in the 40th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Steve Modise managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bikana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Steve Modise was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Allan Inguana was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Silas Laher capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silas Laher really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 85th minute, Steve Modise made a precise shot to the right of Allan Inguana. FC lions's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 92nd minute Silas Laher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Inguana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC lions's Thami Mangope got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The FC lions players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Bikana from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
