Mando Bartlett ran back to his position shaking his head. Mpenza Mumede charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mpenza Mumede the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Isabel booed when Bikana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas Laher didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Ivan Kanku got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Silas Laher put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Terence Kolwa. Steve Modise could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Terence Kolwa made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Terence Kolwa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steve Modise in the 57th minute of play. If Silas Laher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. Rafael Machete hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. FC Isabel's Sibongile Shongwe got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael Machete could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Jeff Okpara made a huge save. In the 84th minute of the match Mpenza Mumede sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jeff Okpara skillfully saved the ball. Steve Modise sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Isabel's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
