The Dotz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Siyabonge Mokatimi should have stopped the shot. Siyabonge Mokatimi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Kolwa in the 8th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Dotz's Ivan Kekana got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 11th minute, Nelson Kolwa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Siyabonge Mokatimi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 16th match minute, Eerstegeluk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kingston Josephs to maneuver through the defense. Bomikaze Fredericks got in the 21st a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Alpheus Cassim handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. A collision led to Dotz getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Gary Edwards hit a great ball. Aubrey Shoba took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Siyabonge Mokatimi. Siyabonge Mokatimi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Siyabonge Mokatimi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eerstegeluk's Alpheus Cassim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Eerstegeluk from getting a goal against them. After 48 minutes, Terence Magakula mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eerstegeluk and the Dotz players grew even worse after the yellow card. Terence Magakula hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. 51 minutes had been played when some careless play by Eerstegeluk's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gary Edwards was slow to take the kick. During this time Dotz's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Dotz's corner Gary Edwards fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alpheus Cassim quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bomikaze Fredericks was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aubrey Shoba in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Siyabonge Mokatimi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Papi Strauss came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Dotz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Papi Strauss couldn't finish the play. Alpheus Cassim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bomikaze Fredericks in the 58th minute of play. Alpheus Cassim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bomikaze Fredericks in the 61st minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Dotz:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Eerstegeluk:s goal. Nelson Kolwa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Siyabonge Mokatimi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Aubrey Shoba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eerstegeluk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aubrey Shoba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Nelson Kolwa made a precise shot to the right of Siyabonge Mokatimi. Dotz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Papi Strauss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alpheus Cassim having to interfere. Dotz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eerstegeluk the free kick. After 95 played minutes Dotz got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Kekana. The audience was convinced that Aubrey Shoba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Siyabonge Mokatimi was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. 98 minutes into the match, Eerstegeluk's Aubrey Shoba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Siyabonge Mokatimi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Dotz fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Eerstegeluk were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
