An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Kolwa in the 19th minute of play forced FC Ruitersbos's goalkeeper Rob Ntsume to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Sephadi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Nelson Kolwa ran back to his position shaking his head. Aubrey Shoba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rob Ntsume read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aubrey Shoba to make the kick off. A collision led to FC Ruitersbos getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Phillip Konza hit a great ball. In the 59th minute of the match Jikolo Mathibe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rob Ntsume skillfully saved the ball. Aubrey Shoba had several of the FC Ruitersbos's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Rob Ntsume as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 68th minute, Nelson Kolwa made a precise shot to the right of Rob Ntsume. FC Ruitersbos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
