Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Johann Laher kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the game, Hlamane Mahlangu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mthunzi Maduna was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mthunzi Maduna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hlamane Mahlangu's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Mthunzi Maduna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hlamane Mahlangu in the 11th minute of the match. Hlamane Mahlangu might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mthunzi Maduna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hlamane Mahlangu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute, Michael Sephadi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Ruitersbos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The FC Ruitersbos fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when FC Ruitersbos's Hlamane Mahlangu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Michael Sephadi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michael Sephadi struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Mthunzi Maduna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Ruitersbos. Freddie Etafia hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Rob Ntsume took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johann Laher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute Johann Laher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rob Ntsume saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddie Etafia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hlamane Mahlangu to strike the kick off in the second half. Johann Laher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Ruitersbos's Rob Ntsume played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gordon Macheke in the 56th minute of play. Mthunzi Maduna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michael Sephadi in the 59th minute. Gordon Macheke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johann Laher scored 1-3 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rob Ntsume, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Michael Sephadi was extremely unlucky when he, in the 73rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 76 minutes into the game, Eric Mumede was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Ruitersbos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rising Sun F.C the free kick. Eric Mumede hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Gordon Macheke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Ruitersbos's Rob Ntsume played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gordon Macheke in the 80th minute of play. FC Ruitersbos's Hlamane Mahlangu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rob Ntsume showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johann Laher, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After having played for 94 minutes, Kingston Kanku managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rising Sun F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kingston Kanku was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Rising Sun F.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Ruitersbos's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Ruitersbos.
