Mathibela Konza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brandon Nunes having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silas Webb in the 8th minute of play forced FC Hopwood's goalkeeper Brandon Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Lindo Thabang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A very good chance. Kift boys f.c's Alpheus Takane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Kift boys f.c from getting a goal against them. Mathibela Konza might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brandon Nunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mathibela Konza ran back to his position shaking his head. Elias Komani kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Alpheus Takane acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Maxwell Nhlapo. After having played for 31 minutes, Ivan Webb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Hopwood's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Webb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brandon Nunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathibela Konza, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Ivan Webb might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alpheus Takane. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Webb ran back to his position shaking his head. 40 minutes into the match, FC Hopwood's Lazarus Lekgwathi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alpheus Takane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lazarus Lekgwathi might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alpheus Takane. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lazarus Lekgwathi ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silas Webb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, FC Hopwood's Brandon Nunes got control of the ball when Mathibela Konza tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Hopwood's goalkeeper Brandon Nunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute of the game, Mathibela Konza landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maxwell Nhlapo during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Kift boys f.c's Albert Bartlett got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Brandon Nunes. Bomikaze Sephiri kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. It was beautiful to see FC Hopwood's Lindo Thabang in action when he in the 69th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After some careless play in the FC Hopwood defense, Elias Komani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brandon Nunes. The FC Hopwood fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brandon Nunes should have stopped the shot. Silas Webb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Brandon Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Ivan Webb ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alpheus Takane was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Kift boys f.c's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
