In the 30th minute, Grasshoppers FC's Jonas Manyethela dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. When Johannes Smith fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grasshoppers FC's protests and gave Johannes Smith a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Grasshoppers FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Johannes Smith hit a great ball. If Elias Tshabalala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hanile Mbule sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hanile Mbule stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Jonas Manyethela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricky Kubheka was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Ricky Kubheka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Manyethela in the 64th minute of the match. If Hanile Mbule had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DISTRICT 9's Jafta Thebe got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Hanile Mbule got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricky Kubheka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Manyethela in the 75th minute of the match. Jonas Manyethela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricky Kubheka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. If Jonas Manyethela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bradley Collins hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Elias Tshabalala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the game, Grasshoppers FC's Elias Tshabalala nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricky Kubheka made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Johannes Smith kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Grasshoppers FC had won after a very even match.
