The supporters of BLACK STARS FC booed when FC KuLombombo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noxolo Roberts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hlamane Khumalo might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sipho Thompson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hlamane Khumalo ran back to his position shaking his head. Darren Arendse made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hanile Nkadimeng in the 21st minute. With his leg Darren Arendse managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when FC KuLombombo's Hanile Nkadimeng fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 37 minutes into the match, BLACK STARS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Noxolo Roberts came free, but Darren Arendse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute Hlamane Khumalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sipho Thompson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee showed Akil Thompson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, BLACK STARS FC's Akil Thompson got a free kick in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, FC KuLombombo's Jocob Laher broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 68 minutes, Noxolo Roberts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC KuLombombo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noxolo Roberts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC KuLombombo's zone, Ricky Machete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sipho Thompson came out of the goal and Ricky Machete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Noxolo Thokozani charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Noxolo Thokozani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC KuLombombo.
