Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Allan Shongwe started the match with the kick off. When Charles Serage came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Blenheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Serage couldn't finish the play. When Vuyo Thembe fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blenheim's protests and gave Vuyo Thembe a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Blenheim got a freekick which was hit by Vuyo Thembe. After a rather tough play, Blenheim's Charles Serage got a free kick in the 15th minute. Delron Thembe was a little too slow when Allan Shongwe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 25th minute, Allan Shongwe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 27 minutes into the game, Sam Mabele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Highlanders FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blenheim the free kick. After 27 played minutes Highlanders FC got a freekick which was hit by Sam Mabele. 30 minutes into the match, Blenheim's goal looked a bit too open when Thabile Thobejane came free, but Shumani Khomane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petru Buculeasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 32 minutes, Thabile Thobejane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Highlanders FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thabile Thobejane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Blenheim's goal looked a bit too open when Thabile Thobejane came free, but Shumani Khomane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Petru Buculeasa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Blenheim's Shumani Khomane. Shumani Khomane was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norman Mathibe got free with Delron Thembe in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Petru Buculeasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Shumani Khomane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thabile Thobejane was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Petru Buculeasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shumani Khomane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Allan Shongwe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blenheim's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Shongwe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delron Thembe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Blenheim fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! Shumani Khomane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Buculeasa in the 66th minute of play. Shumani Khomane was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Petru Buculeasa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 69 minute of play. In the 75th minute Norman Mathibe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delron Thembe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blenheim's Shumani Khomane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Blenheim from getting a goal against them. Delron Thembe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Mathibe in the 81st minute of play. Norman Mathibe scored 2-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Delron Thembe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thabile Thobejane's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Shumani Khomane skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Charles Serage kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When Norman Mathibe came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Blenheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Mathibe couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Highlanders FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Blenheim throughout the match.
