Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5875, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Johann Modise kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute, Highlanders FC's Sam Mabele seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sam Mabele the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Highlanders FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sam Mabele had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Highlanders FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rini MKB 2005:s goal. The referee gave Rini MKB 2005 a penalty, 6 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Johann Modise, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Highlanders FC's Delron Thembe. 1-0. In the 10th minute, Rini MKB 2005's Johann Modise dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Highlanders FC's Thabile Thobejane managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Shakeel Tembe in the 14 minute of the game. Delron Thembe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johann Modise in the 15th minute of the match. Highlanders FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Johann Modise scored to the left of an out of position Delron Thembe, making the score, 3-0. 21 minutes into the game, Johann Modise recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Delron Thembe. Johann Modise showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. In the 25th minute Johann Modise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delron Thembe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vuyo Fredericks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petru Buculeasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The corner led Highlanders FC's Thabile Thobejane to fire away a dangerous shot which Vuyo Fredericks despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Petru Buculeasa came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Highlanders FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petru Buculeasa couldn't finish the play. Rini MKB 2005's Vuyo Fredericks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petru Buculeasa in the 37th minute of play. After some careless play in the Rini MKB 2005 defense, Johann Inguana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vuyo Fredericks. The Rini MKB 2005 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vuyo Fredericks should have stopped the shot. 48 minutes into the match, Highlanders FC's goal looked a bit too open when Johann Modise came free, but Delron Thembe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd minute, Rini MKB 2005's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Thabile Thobejane fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 53 minutes into the match, Highlanders FC's goal looked a bit too open when Johann Modise came free, but Delron Thembe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Fuzile Kolwa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rini MKB 2005's supporters rose to their feet, but Fuzile Kolwa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delron Thembe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Petru Buculeasa hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Delron Thembe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fuzile Kolwa, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Delron Thembe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fuzile Kolwa in the 69th minute of play. After 70 minutes, Thabile Thobejane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Highlanders FC and the Rini MKB 2005 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thabile Thobejane kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Vuyo Fredericks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petru Buculeasa in the 73rd minute of the match. Delron Thembe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johann Modise, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lesego Tembe in the 80th minute of play forced Rini MKB 2005's goalkeeper Vuyo Fredericks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes Rini MKB 2005 got a freekick which was hit by Fuzile Kolwa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanton Nauseb in the 89th minute of play forced Highlanders FC's goalkeeper Delron Thembe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Highlanders FC defense, Fuzile Kolwa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delron Thembe. The Highlanders FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delron Thembe should have stopped the shot. Highlanders FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
