The supporters of Welgevonden booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nkosi Kubheka didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th match minute, Liverpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jabu Steyn to maneuver through the defense. Lindo Melele charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The Welgevonden manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Liverpool to win.
