Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sam Machete took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute, Patrice Shongwe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Tomas Dube notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of stellenbosh city's Soloman Tembe. Soloman Tembe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Samuel Mayoyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Macheke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Gansbaai's Samuel Thebile got a free kick in the 16th minute. After 18 minutes of play, stellenbosh city's Allan Macheke made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Mayoyo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 20th minute, Patrice Shongwe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, FC Gansbaai's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Machete came free, but Samuel Mayoyo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Johann Mkhwanazi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Soloman Tembe was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Soloman Tembe was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Tomas Dube capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Dube really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Themba King during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jomo Klein was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 45 minutes into the match. Jomo Klein hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Sam Machete struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Samuel Mayoyo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for stellenbosh city. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Dube made a kick off. Tomas Dube received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Soloman Tembe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lazarus Radebe took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Mayoyo. Samuel Mayoyo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. In the 63rd minute, Bongi Dinha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samuel Mayoyo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 64th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kenny Ngake. FC Gansbaai's Samuel Mayoyo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save FC Gansbaai from getting a goal against them. A collision led to FC Gansbaai getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Samuel Thebile hit a great ball. Kenny Ngake was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 68th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Allan Macheke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Samuel Mayoyo made a huge save. stellenbosh city's Soloman Tembe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Dube in the 76th minute of play. Jabu Mabalane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Samuel Mayoyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th play minute Jabu Mabalane came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Samuel Mayoyo. 3-4. stellenbosh city's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
